Wrexham winger James McClean could face a two-match suspension soon after he picked up his eighth booking of the season on Saturday.

It was McClean's eighth yellow card of the season and is now just two bookings short of picking up a two-match suspension.

According to League Two rules, a player will be suspended for two straight games if he collects 10 yellow cards in the first 37 games of a season. The duration of the suspension will be increased to three games if a player gets booked 15 times before the final of the regular season.
McClean currently has eight yellow cards to his name the most by any Wrexham player in the ongoing season. He is followed by Elliot Lee, Paul Mullin and Eoghan O’Connell who have been booked five times each in the 2023/24 campaign.
The Red Dragons missed a golden opportunity to climb up to the top of League Two after going down by a goal to nil against their rivals on Saturday. They will be next seen in action on January 29 against Blackburn Rovers in the FA Cup fourth round.
